Why did we add this new profile?

We’ve been meaning to add a darker roast for a while, because so many of you have asked for a coffee that’s darker/bolder than the Bold profile. Recently, we’ve been experimenting with higher elevation coffees roasted dark and it just clicked! We wanted to ensure that we didn’t burn (i.e. roast too darkly) a coffee so that it would lose all flavor. With a higher elevation coffee in Extra Bold, you’ll get that caramel-like smokiness while maintaining just a touch of sweetness and most importantly a good body. We think it’s great!
